When it comes to organizations such as the United States of America’s Central Intelligence Agency and West Germany’s Bundesnachrichtendienst (We’ll just call it the BND for short), cryptographic machines being fabricated under the beautiful Swiss Alps do not usually come to mind, but that’s what this committee is all about. Called by some, “The Intelligence Coup of The Century”, the Swiss crypto-security firm Crypto AG was secretly bought by the CIA in 1970 in order to give them a front-row seat to the communications of over 180 nations across the globe. This committee will be composed of the operatives from the CIA and the BND, as well as executives from Crypto AG, with the task of gaining intelligence, possibly expanding the program, and acting on the knowledge gained. It’s 1979, the Middle East is in disarray, the Cold War looks far from over, and the global political system grows more unstable. Put out too many fires and you may be found out, but let them happen and you may very well watch the world burn before your very eyes. Welcome to Crypto AG, oversee responsibly.
